the Attraction, Theatre, TV & Film industries.

We are Norse Sky, the Yorkshire-based themed set builders and prop makers. Our work is rooted in the attractions, theatre, TV and film industries with the core of our projects being completed within the UK.

We specialise in all aspects of set building, scenic construction, prop making and art department processes, with in-house CNC machining, laser cutting and 3D printing capabilities.

By working closely and collaboratively with our clients, our small but talented team of dedicated designers and technicians create high-quality, unique environments, experiences, sets and props for a wide range of exciting projects.

We are actively looking to fill the following roles:

Creative Designer – Click for more details:

Location: Norse Sky HQ

Position: Full Time (in house)

As a Creative Designer, you’ll be responsible for realising project briefs through the creation of concept designs, 3D models and schematic drawings. In this highly creative and innovative role you will work closely with our technical design and production team to facilitate and maintain design intent and project vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Define design briefs and scope of work
  • Generate creative concepts and proposals
  • Create engaging mood boards, storyboards, and presentations
  • Develop 3D designs and renders
  • Produce accurate schematic plans and drawings
  • Create 2D graphical designs and print ready artwork 
  • Champion client briefs and design within budget
  • Research and suggest suitable materials and processes
  • Collaborate with internal departments
  • Meet with, and present to clients
  • Self manage and record work load, schedule and deliverables.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in 2D & 3D creative design, preferably in the events, entertainment or the attractions industry
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative work in themed entertainment
  • Proven experience in graphic design and creating print ready artwork
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Sketchup
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe CS
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, DXFs and DWGs
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine an advantage
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel

  • Primary place of work, Norse Sky HQ, BD20 7BW
  • 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday 0830 – 1700

Production Manager – Click for more details:

Location: Norse Sky HQ

Position: Full Time (in house)

As a Production Manager, you will influence and manage projects from start to finish. You will schedule and facilitate workshop production, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate with the wider team to cost projects, influence design and improve production processes

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain production schedules and budgets. 
  • Manage and facilitate workshop production and onsite installations.
  • Manage and coordinate in house and freelance production teams.
  • Manage the flow of information and distribution of drawings.
  • Manage material / supplier selection, procurement and stock levels.
  • Manage and maintain quality control.
  • Manage safe working practices amongst the production team.
  • Identify production risks and solve issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and record project progress and performance.
  • Review and present project performance to the wider team.
  • Keep the wider team informed of progress and manage expectations.
  • Assist with estimating, and project specifications.
  • Influence and improve design and production processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in production management, preferably in  the bespoke fabrication, events, entertainment or attractions industry.
  • Operate at a senior level, with a proficiency in people management and development
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and COSHH
  • Hands-on experience in the design and / or build, preferably in the bespoke fabrication, events, entertainment or attractions industry.
  • An understanding of CNC, timber, GRP and creative production processes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel.

Project Manager – Click for more details:

Location: Norse Sky HQ

Position: Full Time (in house)

As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring they’re delivered on time and within budget. You’ll work with teams across departments to keep everything on track.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, production and installation schedules.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams and manage the flow of information.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting documentation and updating team members as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify risks and solve issues as they arise.
  • Keep management team informed and manage expectations, 
  • Meet and communicate with clients as required.
  • Improve project processes and workflows.
  • Pro-active presence where required by the project (office, design studio, workshop, onsite)

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in project management, preferably in events, entertainment or the attractions industry.
  • Hands-on experience in the design and / or build of projects preferably in events, entertainment or attractions industry.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management processes.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel.

We do offer work experience placements. However, due to the proximity to public transport, we can only consider students from Keighley, South Craven and Skipton.
